To celebrate Black History Month, Queer Bookclub will be reading Audre Lorde’s Sister Outsider: Essays and Speeches. This infamous text explores the intersections of Lorde’s identity—Black woman, lesbian, feminist, poet, activist, mother, and cancer survivor—through a collection of powerful essays and speeches.
Recognizing the original publication of Sister Outsider in 1984, this bookclub will critically examine how the numerous -isms touched on in the text still exist today as well as how we might continue to dismantle them in the present.
As always, Queer Bookclub is the last Monday of the month from 5:30-7pm. No need to sign up, just bring yourself. Join us for a cozy evening of discussion accompanied by drinks and snacks!
